COMPETITIVE SECTOR
We are proud to contribute to the growth of the
women's artistic gymnastics (WAG) in the region. Each year,
The distinctive pink of our team tracksuit stands out on the podium at various regional and provincial competitions.
From the age of four, a young gymnast can join a pre competitive group and gradually integrate the Defi program (from age 6), the regional circuit (from age 8) or the provincial circuit (from age 9).
An audition is required to be able to hope to progress to the competitive level.
Besides having the necessary physical abilities, an artistic gymnast must be disciplined, motivated and determined.
The different teams are:
-
Pre competitive (4-5 years)
-
Defi - D1 to D6 (6 to 11 years old)
-
Regional - R1 to R5 (8 years and older)
-
Provincial - NIntro to N10 (9 years and over)
-
Sports-études and Sports Concentration
PRECOMPETITIVE
4-5 years old
( 4 to 6 hours of training/week)
The young acrobats in this group come largely from the recreational sector, where their gymnastic potential has been recognized by coaches. The goal of the Pre competitive team is to introduce young gymnasts to more rigorous training and prepare them for the next steps in the competitive sector.

6-11 years old
(9 to 12 hours of training/week)
Levels D1 to D6
The Defi program is the perfect opportunity for a young gymnast to take her first steps on a competition stage. Two to three times a year, athletes are evaluated in a competition-like setting, allowing them to determine if their movements are ready to be integrated into routines that would be presented in competition.
COMPETITIVE
8 years and over
(6 to 15 hours of training/week)
Levels R1 to R5
Levels R1 and R2 are intended to be more of an introduction to competitions. Gymnasts prepare a routine for each apparatus (vault, bars, trampoline, beam, floor, tumbling) and the goal is to progress to the next level. Once at levels R3, R4 and R5, the athlete has the opportunity to compete with the goal of representing their region at the Challenge des Régions, the final event of the season in the regional sector.

9 years and older
(15 to 20 hours of training/week)
Levels NIntro to N8
Gymnasts who train at the provincial level are passionate about their sport and give their best. At this stage, we can start talking about "performance" and "gymnastics career," and the girls can go all the way to the Eastern Canadian Championships, depending on their level.
SPORTS-ÉTUDES AND SPORT CONCENTRATION
Jeune Aire is pleased to be able to offer its competitive athletes a better balance between their academic and sporting goals.
As part of the Sports Concentration component, eligible gymnasts of level R4 and above, in agreement with the school they attend, have the opportunity to train three afternoons per week as well as on Sundays, thus freeing up their evenings to be with their families and do their schoolwork.
As the club is a Gymnastique Québec agent for the Sport-études program, eligible gymnasts at N7 level and above have the opportunity to join their high school's Sport-études program and train at Jeune Aire five afternoons a week, thus freeing up their evenings and weekends.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like more information about these programs.
